Run For Remembrance will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships

Eligibility Requirements for The Erasmo Elias Jr. Scholarship:

Must be a graduating senior from a local high school
Must be entering one of the following after graduation:
- a job in the automotive field (e.g., mechanic, technician, etc.)
- a job in a factory/ manufacturing setting
- a job in the trades (e.g., construction, plumbing, welding, electrical, etc.)
- Enlistment in the military

This run has been created in remembrance of Erasmo Elias Jr.

Erasmo spent many years working at John’s Manville & loved to work on vehicles. To honor him and what he loved in life, we would like to award the scholarship money to someone who will spend their life doing some of the things he loved in life.

Additional Information

Once we have reviewed your application, transcripts will be requested, as well as recommendation letters for finalists. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to education, community service, and leadership. Scholarship recipients will be recognized during our annual 5K event and awarded funds to support their goals.

Thank you for submitting an application! All finalists will be contacted by us on March 1st.

Finalists that are contacted will need to provide:

- High school transcripts

- 3 letters of Recommendation

- Acceptance letter/ letter of intent/ proof of intent for one of the career paths listed in the eligibility requirements

The scholarship recipient will be announced on April 30th, 2026.
